A little about me...

Since becoming involved with wedding photography I have studied the great photographers of the world and taken my inspiration from those masters to form my own style, a mixture of informal reportage, and traditional photography that pleases everyone from the Bride and Groom (who want the modern candid art photos) to the mothers and grandmothers (who prefer the more traditional poses outside the church).

I have been taking photographs since I was 16 years old and have seen quite a huge change in the way photographs have been taken over the years.

With the new age of digital photography it seems that everyone has a digital camera, from point and shoot compacts to 5 mega pixel camera phones. YES! Everybody is snapping away at something.

That's why professional photographers have to keep up to date with the technology and the services they offer. We need to be able to provide that little bit extra as the bar is raised higher and higher still.

I shoot weddings in an informal “Reportage” style, but will shoot formal pictures if required to do so.

I will photograph the day's events by capturing the Bride and Groom, guests and wedding party in candid and informal photography throughout the day.

The emphasis will be on a relaxed, no pressure, easy going day.

I will try to capture the spirit of your wedding day and the mood of the family and friends that attend, and wrap it all into one happy memory.

I like to use available light as much as I can to capture the natural ambient mood of the moment, and that's what it's all about… the mood of the occasion, that once in a lifetime click of a button to capture something incredibly moving that will live forever in print, long after the wedding dress has yellowed with age. I aim to do that every time I pick up a camera.

I am a member of the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and I  successfully completed my Licentiate qualification on 1st December 2008

Hopefully by browsing these pages you will have enough information to help you to decide to hire me to photograph your wedding and if you need more information, pick up the phone and we'll have a chat.

When you make your initial Inquiry, the first thing I will do is arrange to meet you and show you some samples of my work and to have a chat about your wedding plans.

I feel this really helps to calm the nerves of the big day because by then you and I will have already met and you'll know what to expect.

Just a word on photography and the prices I charge.
There has been a marked drop in photography prices this past year (2009) and it can only be put down to the current economic climate

Times are tough all around its true so I would like to justify the prices I charge by saying that when you hire me you are not only hiring a British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) trained photographer, you are inviting a photographer into your life for one day with a deep passion of the art of taking photos. At the end of the day he leaves as a friend.

I take up to 1200 photographs on some of my weddings and each one of them is carefully calculated and pre-thought out before I take it.

That's nearly 1 photo every 30 seconds for an 11 hour period.
After this I go home and the next day I post process every single photo to bring the best out of it. This means a lot of Photoshop work on every photo and this usually takes about a day and a half.

For me Photography is a passion and its something I would not do if I didn’t enjoy it. I will never be fully satisfied with my end results, and I am always pushing to create that perfect image and I know that many couples getting married in this day and age want to capture the memories of the best day of their life for eternity

You cannot put a price on art and its heart warming to know that people value ME as a photographer.
Photography is a very important part of your wedding and that needs taking into consideration.

Without photography, who remembers the detail on the back of the brides dress or what colour icing was on the cake?

What about 20 years after? Who remembers everyone that attended the wedding?
The cake is gone! The wedding dress is mothballed! The wedding Limo has failed its M.O.T and is due for the breakers.

Only memories remain...... and only quality photography captures those memories.

Modern Printed photographic paper can last up to 200 years..... something to leave the grand children perhaps?
